Today I pre-ordered Oberto Gili’s Home Sweet Home: Sumptuous and Bohemian Interiors. Due out in October, it is a collection of his favorite interiors documented over time. His own home is the best of Mary Randolph Carter’s subjects in her new book A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of a Misspent Life.

We purchased this side table/stool at Cisco Home in Pasadena. This piece and a similarly-designed coffee table were just two samples of collapsible furniture made by a local design collective called Fend.
