An afro-centric weekend included a meeting with Chay Wike during which we discussed her South African roots and Sunday brought a jaunt to the Rose Bowl with dear South African friend, Margaret-Anne Smith.
Purchases at the Rose Bowl: Ghanaian baskets and hat, and a West African asok — a flax and gold-threaded textile. The weave’s design allows for beautiful dappled light when used as a window covering in the sunroom.
